AES IN LOUISIANA
Strengthening Louisiana's energy-driven economy
The energy industry has long been a key driver of economic growth in Louisiana, powering the economy, creating jobs and generating tax revenue. As the world invests in more clean energy resources, new opportunities emerge for Louisiana to continue as an energy leader.
Louisiana has excellent solar and wind energy potential that is largely undeveloped across the state. AES is working with communities to bring economic investment into Louisiana that will grow and diversify its economy and US energy resources by providing low-cost, clean energy for all. AES is dedicated to developing solar and wind energy potential energy resources that deliver economic benefits to local communities while respecting the values of the state’s residents and character of the land.

Our leadership
AES is a global energy company focused on accelerating the future of energy, together.
Building partnerships to strengthen communities
AES is committed to leading an equitable and responsible transition to cleaner energy resources by working closely with communities, customers, landowners, state agencies, educational institutions, elected officials and other stakeholders.
AES partnered with Louisiana Delta Community College to provide workforce development and training in Morehouse Parish. As part of this effort, AES funded $30,000 in full scholarships for 15 students to cover their participation in the Heavy Equipment Operator Course, which is applicable to clean energy project construction.
The AES and Louisiana Delta Community College partnership was the result of strong coordination with Morehouse Economic Development Corporation, Louisiana Employment Services and the Oak Ridge solar project contractor, Primoris Services. These groups came together in 2022 and hosted a job fair that brought in more than 150 local residents.

Preserving the land and creating new opportunities with landowners
We understand the importance of protecting farmland and preserving the local environment when developing renewable energy projects. AES seeks opportunities to deliver added value through our best practices in project development to protect the land for future generations.
We offer landowners opportunities to tap into new sources of revenue on their land while retaining ownership throughout the entire life of the project. For many, this is a welcome complement to land use and an opportunity to diversify their land investment while hedging against volatile commodity prices. For others, our projects offer an income stream and land-use option where none otherwise existed.
Our team and landowners work together, in partnership, from the early stages of site discussions, through permitting, construction, and operation. The landowner relationship with AES is built on trust and open communication, ensuring our projects create a long-lasting, positive impact for our landowners and local communities.
