SOLAR PLUS STORAGE IN CALIFORNIA

Rangeland and High Valley solar + storage project

in development

AES’ Rangeland and High Valley project is a proposed solar + battery energy storage facility to be located in Lancaster and unincorporated Los Angeles County, California.

This project will provide a critical and cost-effective source of clean, reliable power for the region’s electric grid and will also support California’s transition and commitment to achieving 100% carbon-free energy by 2045.

Our clean energy commitment

AES’ Rangeland and High Valley solar + storage projects are proposed facilities in California. We are committed to responsible clean energy development that creates long-term value and positive impact for both the environment and local communities.

Economic and environmental benefits

We believe in being a good neighbor, ensuring responsible clean energy development that benefits both the environment and local communities without burdening existing infrastructure.

Sustainability Resources

Sustainability best practices

At AES, safety is our highest priority, and we’ve focused on improving lives for more than 40 years. As a leading innovator in energy solutions, sustainability is core to both our strategy and our culture. We are committed to responsible land use and incorporating sustainable best practices into the entire project lifecycle, contributing to building a domestic circular renewables economy and reducing foreign dependence.

Environmental and technical studies

Because the sites for this project are in the city of Lancaster and Los Angeles County, a joint Environmental Impact Report (EIR) will be prepared. The EIR is a comprehensive analysis that will identify any significant environmental impacts and mitigation measures as required by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The project will be designed and built in accordance with the latest applicable codes and safety standards.

Local partnerships

AES is committed to being a good neighbor and partner in the Antelope Valley community. This includes informing and engaging project stakeholders and the public throughout all phases of the project. AES also supports local contractors and has ongoing partnerships with community organizations and programs such as Antelope Valley College. AES is a proud member and partner of Antelope Valley Chambers of Commerce and AV EDGE.
