AES' Brand FAQs

FAQs

Can I modify the AES logo?

No, our AES Masterbrand and Market brand logos can not be altered in any way, and should be used only as prescribed in our Logo guidelines in the Visual Guidelines section of brand.aes.com

Which logo should I use?

AES’ Masterbrand logo is used to:

  • Set strategic direction for the global organization
  • Unify the business operationally and culturally as one company
  • Maintain multi-market customer relationships
  • Represent the employer for our people and contractors across markets

AES’ Market brand logos are used to:

  • Launch local programs, initiatives, and projects
  • Represent the plants, sites, and assets within a market
  • Form local, market-specific partnerships and / or joint ventures

Can I create a new template?

Absolutely!  Our Creative Services team is happy to partner with you to create the design templates you need.  Please enter a design request here.

Where can I find approved photography?

Approved photography can be found in our Brand Assets Library.

Can I use my own event branding?

No, as part of AES’ brand architecture only the AES Masterbrand, AES Market brands, and approved exceptions are managed as brands.  Anything outside of that brand architecture is no longer managed as a brand and will not have logos, wordmarks, or lockups with AES logos.  Instead we should use a text only approach and leverage one of AES’ Signature colors to add emphasis.

When should I use the gradient line?

Our gradient line is the foundational element of our visual identity. Forming our logo, it represents our unique ability to respond to our customers’ needs and to tailor our solutions around them. The transition to green reflects the connection between our history and our future, and the shape functions as a literal connection that brings together all of our visual elements in the system.  You can use the gradient line as a structure element of your page, in a header or footer for example, or to separate content.  You can also use the gradient line in combination with photography to create more expressive layouts.
