    Environmental review and permitting

Multiple environmental, cultural, and siting studies have been prepared for the Baldy-Mesa project. The project has been reviewed under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), which included opportunities for public comment. The City of Adelanto adopted a Mitigated Negative Declaration and granted a Conditional Use Permit for the project in November 2020 for the project to move forward.

    Environmental impacts

These studies and reviews concluded that the project will not create any significant environmental impacts. The project will not impact public land, recreational opportunities, scenic resources, or city resources. Once operational, the project will use very little water and will not produce any air pollution or emissions.
